Welcome
The Roslin Institute at the University of Edinburgh is pleased to announce that Edinburgh has been chosen to host the 32nd Conference for the International Society for Animal Genetics from 26th – 30th July 2010, Edinburgh. The Conference will be held at the Edinburgh Conference Centre (ECC), situated just outside the city centre at the Riccarton Campus of Heriot-Watt University.
The conference will be structured around themes, each with invited speakers covering major topics in, or relevant to, animal genetics and genomics, together with a programme of workshops organised by ISAG standing committees and poster sessions.
Edinburgh is Scotland's capital city and is the perfect location for the 32nd Conference for the International Society for Animal Genetics. It is large enough to be able to provide all the facilities international delegates would expect but small enough and friendly enough to explore thoroughly on foot. It has a magnificent city centre setting with the ancient castle dominating Princes Street, the main shopping thoroughfare, set amongst medieval lanes and stylish, sweeping terraces. Edinburgh is steeped in history and boasts a myriad of World Heritage Sites of historical interest. There is a wealth of accommodation ranging from 5 star luxury and exclusive boutique hotels to low budget and smaller traditional accommodation full of Scottish character.
An exciting and memorable social programme will be arranged throughout the Conference with events held in the ECC and Our Dynamic Earth.
Scotland offers a feast of cultural and historical delights. Visitors have endless opportunities to explore some of the world's most breathtaking scenery, from the mountains and glens of the Highlands to the lowlands of the Borders. For those who love the outdoors, Scotland offers an unlimited choice of pursuits and spectacular scenery. World class angling on the famous salmon and trout rivers, sailing and spectacular hill walks are just a few of the many possibilities. Scotland, of course, is also the home of golf, with many courses to choose from, including the famous championship links of St Andrews.
We hope you will join us in Edinburgh in 2010.
