Travel to Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Conference Centre

Flying to Edinburgh
Edinburgh International Airport is 12 kilometres (8 miles) from the city centre. There are frequent direct flights from most UK airports, over 30 European destinations and North America. There are frequent bus links to the city centre and a good supply of taxis.

There are bus and taxi services from the airport to the city centre, taking approximately 25 minutes. Airlink bus tickets are available to buy as you board or from the Airlink kiosk at Edinburgh Airport (stand 19) and cost (at the time of writing) £3.50 for a single journey or £6.00 for a return ticket. There are taxi ranks outside the UK Arrivals end of the terminal building. A taxi ride from the airport to the city centre will cost around £20.00.

It is also practical to fly into Glasgow Airport, which offers further flight options. It takes approximately 2 hours to travel from Glasgow Airport to Edinburgh city centre.

Train Travel
GNER and Virgin Cross Country offer regular services to Edinburgh Waverley. Journeys from London take 4 - 5 hours.

Local Bus Travel
The journey to Edinburgh Conference Centre by bus takes approximately 30-40 minutes from the city centre, depending on the time that you are travelling. Lothian Buses offers services 25, X25, 34, 45 and N25 (night bus) to the Conference Centre.

The 25 departs from Princes Street, via Haymarket, Gorgie Road and Sighthill. The X25 has a limited stop route beginning at Waterloo Place via Princes Street, Lothian Road and running non-stop to Sighthill before arriving at the Conference Centre. The 34 departs from Princes Street via Lothian Road, Fountainbridge, Slateford Road and Sighthill.

The 25 is the most frequent bus to the Conference Centre, leaving the city centre every 15 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes after 20.00. During peak times in the morning and evening, Monday to Friday, the X25 runs to the Conference Centre every 15-20 minutes.

The 25 runs until around midnight, after which time Lothian Buses operate the N25, a night bus service which runs every 30 minutes to the Conference Centre from Waverly train station via Princes Street, Haymarket, Balgreen and Sighthill.

The 45 leaves from St Andrew Square via The Mound, Tollcross, Bruntsfield, Merchiston and Craiglockhart. This service operates every 30 minutes, Monday to Friday, from approximately 07.00 to 19.00.

Local Taxi Service

The easiest and most convenient way to travel to the Conference Centre from Edinburgh City Centre is by taxi which should cost around £20 and the journey should take around 20-30 minutes. There are a number of taxi services in the centre of Edinburgh including those at Waverly Railway Station and St Andrew Square Bus Station. Central Radio Taxi's can be contacted on 0131 229 2468.

At the Edinburgh Campus, taxis can be requested from the main reception desk.
